Clinics and Doctors Who Perform Fecal Microbiota Transplantation

We are compiling a list of doctors and hospitals around the world who have performed fecal microbiota transplants - the list will grow as more doctors start to use this procedure on their ailing patients.

We would love your help in compiling this list, so a comment with a name of a doctor/physician/medical professional and any information you can give would be very much appreciated!

Please don't try this procedure without qualified medical guidance and advice. It is essential that fecal doners be screened for various diseases including some which are contageous. This is why a list of doctors who are familiar with the procedure is important, so that those of you who feel fecal microbiota transplantation could be beneficial to you can seek out appropriate medical advice.

    1. Hello, curious- did you ever find a doctor? I have UC and am in Columbus OH. Would LOVE to find a doctor willing to do this. Mine shuts me down left and right...

      Delete
    2. "Shuts you down?" Your doctor is a nass. Unless you have some overwhelming reason, fire him (or her) and find a professional that isn't living in the 19th century. Forget the 'M.D. = GOD' formula and ask questions, tell them your needs, and see if they listen. If they don't listen, just say, "Next in line, please."
BTW, for you, the Cleveland Clinic is doing FMT's. The FDA still has some obscene roadblocks to protect the health care industry's massive cash cow (you didn't really think they worked for you, did you?).

    3. Dr. Monika Fischer, IU School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN. She is fabulous and has treated over 140 patients using FMT.

  8. I am looking for a doctor who will perform FMT for my 10 year old daughter with Crohn's. I can find many doctors who will perform the procedure in adults but not children. So far, I have found 1 ND- Dr. Mark Davis in Portland, OR who will do the FMT with a pediatric patient. I'm willing to travel worldwide but obviously the closer the better. We are in Victoria, B.C. Canada.
    Thank you!

  9. My 3 yr old Grandson's Fecal implant was just blocked by the FDA. This little guy has been sick for over a year! He's been in the hospital several times - seen many doctors, been on Vancomyacin until it just plain doesn't work anymore. And what does all this medicine do to this little guys insides? So why would the FDA block or put something on hold that could possibly cure him and give him and his parents their lives back again? Frustrated in Minnesota! Bonnie K

    1. Hi Bonnie!

I am really sorry to hear of your grandson's plight. I have a medical paper in which a 2 year old girl was cured of c-diff and her symptoms disappeared 36 hours after the fecal transplant. http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/126/1/e239.full - is it possible your grandson's physician can present this medical paper to the FDA? Failing that, Dr Mark Davis of Bright Medicine Clinic does apparently treat pediatric patients - he may be able to treat or advise you on treatment for your precious grandson - his web address is http://www.fecalmicrobiotatransplantation.com

FMT definitely works, and it works quickly - the main problem is getting a suitable doner who's stool and blood tests are all negative for nasty bacteria, parasites and other pathogens (including HIV, HEP B and C).

    2. Anyone know if there are any doc's in California or states nearby doing the implants. Thanks, Carlo

  11. I have antibiotic caused C Diff following surgery and have had 5 recurrences. Currently on Vancomycin, but my symptoms recur within 2 days of the medication protocol. Was referred to a specialist who said I was a definite candidate for the fecal transplant BUT the FDA has halted this treatment. Is there a hospital or physician authorized to perform this procedure in SW Missouri? Thank you for any hope.

  12. I am trying to find a physician in the Winchester VA area for my 81 year old mother. She has been on several antibiotics, Flagyl, Vancomycin, Riflaxamin, to name a few. 2. I have an appointment with Joseph Sovi there at Port Charlotte for the FMT consult in a few weeks. How are you doing now? Did he just do a colonoscopy or enemas also the next day? What was the cost and does he have a protocol or requirements for getting it. I am on my 3rd round of meds. I am taking Dificid without improvement and will start Vanco again in 2 days.

  15. Is there anywhere else in the UK/anywhere that I can be referred to on the NHS? the Taymount clinic only performs an enema, it's not state of the art scope or nasogastric placement or anything, £4k seems a bit steep for that! Many thanks

  16. Is there anyone else in New York City who performs F.M.T. beside the doctor above who is in the Bronx? I would appreciate some other doctors who are doing it in case he does not take my insurance. This is my third time getting C-Diff in 3 years along with Ulcerative Colitis. On Flagyl now but want to stop taking it as I believe it is making my hearing loss worse. Thank you.

  17. You guys should try it at home yourselves first Then if it doesn't work, get a Dr. to do it. Some Dr. will consult with you from a distance via email / phone while you perform the transplant at home. Its not difficult but is messy the first time until you get used to it.

    1. There is no way that a fecal transplant should be attempted without thorough testing of a donor. I cannot stress this enough! Parasites and nasty bacteria need to be ruled out in the donor as well as a range of blood tests including HIV, Hep B and C. The fecal transplant guide book is recommended for those wishing to do this at home - there is a link on the top right hand side of this page for the book which retails at $17.99. The book has excellent information and is written by a woman who's son is considered to be cured of severe crohn's disease.

  20. THE TESTING FOR THE DONOR IS ABOUT $1200.00 Both Quest and Labcor were willing to discount up to 50%. I just had my transplant after suffering repeated life threatening infections in the past 8 months. PLEASE HAVE YOUR DONOR TESTED! You could be trading one problem for another especially if your body is already compromised as far as fighting infections.

    1. I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter suffers from both Crohn's and c-diff. I'm not sure if your daughter is paediatric, but you could contact Dr David Suskind in Seattle - he is an expert in this and appears to have had a good deal of success. http://pulse.seattlechildrens.org/study-suggests-fecal-transplant-could-be-effective-treatment-for-crohns-disease/- here is a link to their contact details: http://www.seattlechildrens.org/contact/ Failing that, he might know of someone else closer or more appropriate! http://pulse.seattlechildrens.org/study-suggests-fecal-transplant-could-be-effective-treatment-for-crohns-disease/ - also take a look at http://www.crohnsmapvaccine.com which is about to be trialed in the next year in the UK. It's a modern therapeutic vaccine designed to target the bacterium MAP, which is being found in the majority of Crohn's sufferers by Prof. Hermon-Taylor of London.... it won't be available for a while yet. Also, please watch this video to learn some more about MAP and Crohn's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CELZLY2X9c If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask and I'll try to point you in the right direction! Wishing you and your daughter all the best and that she'll make a remarkable turn-around!
